Anesthesia for Texas Hygienists - Cohort 7

About this course:

The historical use of anesthetics in dentistry underscores their established efficacy and safety. Local anesthetics are indispensable in nearly all dental procedures, yet their significance may sometimes be overlooked by both patients and clinicians.

Course participants will gain an introduction to evidence-supported knowledge concerning the pharmacology of local anesthetics, including discussions on potency, onset, and duration of action. The course will also cover factors relevant to selecting local anesthetics for perioperative pain management, along with precautions to be mindful of when utilizing these agents.

This course offers four online modules of self-paced didactic training followed by X hours of live, mentored hands-on training guided by our dental instructors.

Participants will be allotted two attempts to complete the online course. More attempts may be granted in consultation with the Hunt School of Dental Medicine.
